Five Southside Bethlehem child care providers participated in PASELA as early child education partners: Lehigh Valley Child Care, Head Start of the Lehigh Valley, Holy Infancy School, Georgina Jiminez Family Child Care and Millie’s Creative Child Care.

Each education partner received funds for the purchase of program materials, supplies and equipment to transform existing child care facilities into aesthetic arts-integrated learning environments. Staff from each PASELA education site received professional development training for integrating the arts into the early child classroom curriculum.

• Lehigh Valley Child Care (LVCC)

Since its beginning in 1970, Lehigh Valley Child Care has been a leader in providing high-quality early education and child care services to the families of the Lehigh Valley. • Head Start of the Lehigh Valley

Head Start is a comprehensive pre-school education program that develops children’s skills for school readiness. At the same time, Head Start builds the capacity of families to sustain their children’s growth and build a foundation for effective problem solving and lifelong commitment to the child’s success. Head Start’s aim is to support low income children and adults as they build on their own strength’s and reach for economic independence and community connections.

• Holy Infancy School

The community of Holy Infancy School endeavors to educate the whole child spiritually, academically and emotionally. This education is based on the gospel values of love, justice and peace. Holy Infancy welcomes children of all ethnic and religious backgrounds.

• Family Child Care Centers

Georgina Jiminez and Andrea Dority own and operate two home-based family child care centers in Southside Bethlehem, Pennsylvania: Jiminez Family Child Care and Millie’s Creative Child Care. Both centers support the needs of parents who need child care during work hours.
